A bridal boutique in Cambridge has been shortlisted in the 2017 UK Wedding Awards.

The Tailor’s Cat, which was established in 1997 and moved to new premises in Sussex Street nine months ago, is home to more than 200 designer wedding gowns. It also sells bridesmaid dresses and accessories, by appointment.

It is one of 12 shortlisted in the category of Best Bridal Boutique in the awards hosted by wedding planner website hitched.co.uk.

The winners in 22 categories will be determined by public vote, which closes on Thursday, February 9.

Every person who votes will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a romantic two-night stay at Ardanaiseig Hotel in Scotland, including dinner for each night.

Owner Emma Arnold said: “While we’ve never gone in for awards before, it’s nice to be shortlisted. We’ve been in business for 20 years and a lot of hard work has gone into that.

“The Toy Shop across from us has closed and I want to try to put the lights on in Sussex Street, if you know what I mean.”

The winners will be announced in the spring.
