Genie Goals has been nominated an incredible 12 times in the 2018 eCommerce Awards.

The Cambridge boutique digital marketing agency for retailers, founded in 2012, is in the best three per cent of agencies in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia) area.

The eCommerce Awards focus on finding the best of the best in an eCommerce industry worth £16billion in 2017. Last year’s Company of the Year winners were Merci Maman (small); Yotel (medium) and O2 (large).

The award nominations add sway to Genie’s decision to specialise in retail in 2012, on a journey that has taken the agency from one client in a small office to working with brands such as Mamas & Papas, Hackett London and Karl Lagerfeld to being acknowledged by Google as the most innovative agency in EMEA for Google Shopping services.

Agency director Luca Senatore said: “We know awards don’t necessarily mean an agency is great, but we’re proud the nominations have come in as a result of case studies we’ve put together as evidence of the work we do with our retail clients. Of course, you don’t get nominated for bad work!

“We’re grateful for the team for working day in, day out for making us one of the best, if not the best agency out there for retail brands – just like we’re grateful for our clients putting their trust in us. Of course, this is another step in what has already been an incredible journey of hard work from over the past six years.”

Genie Goals’ marketing manager Joe Glover. said: “We’re not in the game of having a billion clients, but a reasonably sized number of excellent clients we can really make a big difference for.

“Genie Goals is a retail-only performance marketing agency specialising in PPC, shopping, video, paid social, email and affiliate marketing. We do what we do with pride and personality.

“In six years, we have revolutionised the digital marketing of many household names including Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Mamas & Papas, Dwell, Amara Living, Polarn O Pyret and The Conran Shop. We’ve achieved this by combining incredible people, with 12 languages spoken in-house by native speakers. We also have developed retail-specific proprietary tech – we call him ‘Clarence’ – and a lateral, entrepreneurial way of thinking focused on driving incredible growth.”

This year, the categories have been tweaked and are split into four sections: Industry, Campaigns, Specialist and Business.

Adam Clark, of organisers eCommerxce Expo, said: “The eCommerce Awards continues to go from strength to strength. Once again we received a record number of quality entries across the 28 categories. Very well done to all of our finalists, we are very much looking forward to seeing who picks up the trophies next month at London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.”

The best performing participants overall are automatically put forward for a new overall win, the Online Gold Award for eCommerce. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Wednesday, September 26.
