More than 30 new organisations will be taking part in Saturday’s fair

A one-day fair at The Guildhall this Saturday will bring together a range of local organisations to give residents and students an opportunity to learn about volunteering in Cambridge.

Volunteer for Cambridge, hosted by Cambridge City Council, in partnership with Cambridge Council of Voluntary Services (CCVS), Cambridge Hub, and sponsored by Ingleton Wood, takes place at the Guildhall in Cambridge from 11am-4pm on Saturday, October 20.

This year there will be nearly 30 new organisations and groups taking part. Half of the organisations will also have youth and young people volunteering opportunities, starting from age 13.

People attending will be able to speak directly to organisations working in areas including health, disability, social care, young people, education, culture, sport, the environment, anti-poverty and justice, to discover more about the volunteering opportunities available with them. It is the fourth annual fair, following on from the success of previous events.

Cllr Anna Smith, executive councillor for communities, said: “Volunteer for Cambridge is a fantastic event. I’d encourage anyone interested in putting something back into our local community to come along.

“There are so many opportunities being showcased, that there is bound to be something for everyone.”
