Cambridge fell silent on Remembrance Sunday to honour the sacrifices of servicemen and women in conflicts past and present.

Hundreds attended a Service of Remembrance yesterday (November 12) at the War Memorial in Hills Road where a two-minute silence and wreath-laying service was held. Cambridge mayor Cllr George Pippas laid a wreath on behalf of the city.

The deputy mayor, Cllr Nigel Gawthrope, led a civic procession of councillors, honorary councillors, and officers to the Service of Remembrance at Great St Mary’s Church.

Cllr Pippas also attended a service at the Cambridge Salvation Army on Tenison Road.
