Extensive damage has been caused to the Co-op in High Street, which was also attacked in April.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We were called at about 2.45am today with reports of a ram raid at the Co-op in High Street, Fulbourn.

“A Mitsubishi pick-up truck was used and left at the scene while three men made off in a blue car believed to be on false plates. The cash point machine was stolen.”

Cllr Robert Dryden, who lives in the village, told Cambridge Independent: “I had a call this morning to say that the Co-op had been ram-raided again.”

He said the shop had been ram raided on a number of occasions and after the April incident the cash machine had been moved inside.

The Co-op is the only shop in the village, and Cllr Dryden says the incident will be “an inconvenience” for older villagers, who may not be able to travel.
