Children across the county picked up their pens, pencils, paints and crayons to produce gifts for their mums.

At Icknield Primary School in Sawston, youngsters made cards featuring daffodils and other paper gifts ahead of Mothering Sunday.

While at The Perse Pelican Pre Preparatory School in Cambridge, youngsters were also getting creative to make something special for their mothers.

Head Sarah Waddington told the Cambridge Independent: “The children had great fun making Mother’s Day gifts.

“One class created beautiful butterfly stained glass windows and another group made wonderful heart-shaped decorations.

“Other pupils created flowers, decorated pots and popped wildflower seeds inside their handmade seed packets.

“Nursery children used finger painting to create cards in words and pictures saying “I love ewe!”
