King’s College appoints new director of music from New York

Daniel Hyde will take over from Stephen Cleobury CBE on 1 October 2019.
Daniel Hyde has been appointed as the next director of music at King’s College, Cambridge.
The position has been held by Stephen Cleobury CBE since 1982. Mr Hyde, who will take up the post on October 1, 2019, said he was humbled to be offered the post and paid tribute to his predecessor and to the choir’s world-class heritage.
Mr Hyde will also become a fellow of King’s College. He has directed the choirs of Jesus College, Cambridge and Magdalen College, Oxford, and is organist and director of music at St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York.
