Leading nightclub group aims to top the charts with new venue in city
Twenty new jobs will be created when a new half-a-million pound nightclub opens its doors in Cambridge next month.
The new £550,000 club will also bring disco entertainment and a retro Vinyl experience to the city.
Vinyl will open on Sidney Street on Friday, September 21, following investment by The Deltic Group, the UK’s major operator of late night bars and clubs.
Current nightclub Kuda will close while the venue will feature numerous glitter balls and an illuminated dancefloor, playing pop classics and guilty pleasures.
There will be seven pre-bookable booths, with table service throughout the night. Four of the VIP areas will have their own private flashing dance floor.
General manager, Will Hodge said: “We want to thank everyone who has entered through Kuda’s doors over the years and know many people have happy memories of fun times here.
“But it’s time to bring something fun and different to Cambridge. We’re really excited to focus on our new chapter as we reopen as Vinyl.
“We can’t wait to reveal Vinyl and get the party started.
“We are confident it’s going to be pick of the pops, with hits from the 80s, 90s and 00s and songs that everyone loves.
“We’ve got booths with inflatable guitars and dress-up items, as well as a new VIP area with its own dancefloor, to make every night a party night.”
The club is recruiting for 20 new full and part-time positions, from bar staff to hospitality and sales assistants.
Mr Hodge added: “We are looking for people who enjoy life, have a positive attitude and want to be part of our great new venture. Keep your eye out for our recruitment drive very soon.”
The Deltic Group is the UK’s largest operator for late night bars and clubs with 57 across the UK from Aberdeen to Plymouth and employ 3000 people.
