Cambridge BID (Business Improvement District) is holding a series of open forums to discuss how best to shape Cambridge in the future.

City centre business owners and managers are being invited to share their views and ideas, as well as air concerns, at six free workshops being held later this month.

Ian Sandison, Chairman of Cambridge BID, said: “In the wake of Brexit and with the new Mayoral elections fast-approaching in May, this is a time of great change and, indeed, great opportunity for our city.

“But while the growth in housing and the local economy is positive, the high street remains challenging with changes in spending habits, business rates and training levies all affecting business and consumer confidence as well as Brexit.

“Never has it been more important for city centre businesses to get involved and be a part of the discussions which, not only are going to shape strategies for the years ahead, but also impact hugely on our city centre of the future.

“We welcome opinion on what’s been achieved so far over the last five years and, crucially, input on what’s most important to businesses in the years ahead.”

The six short workshops are being held over two days.

On Tuesday 21st March, there will be three sessions held at Revolution Bar, Stoli Room (2nd floor), Downing Street: 14:00pm – 15:30pm, 16:00pm-17:30pm and 18:00pm-19:30pm.

On Thursday 30th March, there will be a further three sessions at The Hilton Cambridge City Centre Hotel, Downing Street: 08:30am-10am, 10:30am-12:00pm, 12:30pm-14:00pm.
