Stabbed man is said to be stable in hospital after incident in Regent Street

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a 20-year-old man was stabbed in Cambridge.

The incident happened around 1.20am yesterday, August 9.

Police were contacted with reports of violence in Regent Street and found a man in his 20s with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as stable.

Scenes of crime officers visited the location yesterday and an investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.

Detective Sergeant Ashley Ryan said: “This was a vicious attack that could have been even worse.

“We know there were other people in the area at the time. I’d urge anyone who witnessed this incident or has information about it to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
