Only in Cambridge...
Security is to be stepped-up after a number of luxury homes in Cambridge were daubed with graffiti – in Latin!
The vandals painted the new £1.25million five-bedroom, river-fronted houses at Water Street, Chesterton with a number of Latin phrases.
The graffiti appeared overnight and reads ‘Locus in Domos and Loci Populum’ which is understood to criticise the development.
The homes are being marketed by Bidwells and built by H C Moss Ltd. The deverlopers are in the process of having the graffiti removed as well as boosting security at the location.
A spokesperson for the developer, H C Moss (Builders) Ltd, said: “We have been made aware of the incident of criminal damage at our Water Street development and are taking steps to remove the graffiti. This appears to be an isolated incident and it has been reported to the police who are investigating. We will be reviewing our current security measures at the location.”
A police spokesperson said: “We’re investigating criminal damage in the form of graffiti.”
