NHS England praises Clinical Commissioning Group for its work

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has again been rated ‘outstanding’ for the treatment of local cancer patients.

NHS England has congratulated the CCG as it one of just 14 in the country to have been consistently rated outstanding for the past two years.

Cancer is one of several healthcare priorities examined as part of the Improvement and Assessment Framework (IAF) for CCGs.

There are four key areas in which the CCG has shown continued progress: one-year survival rates; early stage diagnosis; speed of referral; and overall patient experience.

Sue Watkinson, who leads cancer care and performance at the CCG, said: “We are pleased to support the provision of a high standard of care for patients.

“It is also good to see that our hard work has been recognised at national level.

“Credit is due to all the staff involved with providing such brilliant care, in our local hospitals and in the community.”
