Person struck by train at Hauxton level crossing

The person has sustained serious injuries but has not died.

A person has been struck by a train at Hauxton level crossing and has sustained serious injuries, although not life threatening.

British Transport Police were called to the line near Hauxton Road level crossing, Cambridge, following a report that a person had been struck by a train shortly before 9.50am .

A statement said: “Our officers are in attendance alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service who are treating a man for injuries. At this time the seriousness of his injuries are not yet known.

“This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious.”
