Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a robbery in Cambridge.

The incident happened at about 11.35pm on Friday (October 7) when two men entered a shop in Chesterton Road.

One of the men, who was carrying a knife, threatened the male shop worker while the other ordered him to open the till.

The pair loaded cash, cigarettes and spirits into a light coloured bag and left the store onto Alpha Road.

They were last seen turning on to East Hertford Street towards Hertford Street.

Both men are described as white, of slim build wearing grey tops or jumpers with scarves or cloths covering their faces. One of the men is 6’ and the other between 5’6” and 5’9”

Detective Constable Andrew McKeane said: “The incident has left the shop work understandably shocked and frightened. I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time, particularly those in Hertford Street towards St Luke’s Street who may have seen these two men.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
