Three brand new, luxury, eco-friendly houses in Willingham are on the market with Cheffins – and one of the properties has already been reserved.

Whites Path, on the edge of the village, is a development by London-based Yellow Door Property (YDP), which specialises in beautiful eco-friendly homes.

Accessed from Over Road via a private drive – which was a condition of planning permission from South Cambridgeshire District Council – all three homes are virtually ready for occupation.

When YDP acquired the land it had one dilapidated house on it and was densely covered with weeds and small, self-seeded trees.

The new homes are of strikingly contemporary design and are highly energy-efficient, possessing underfloor heating, Scandinavian-designed efficient windows, high insulation and heating systems.

They will provide a year-round easy living environment for low cost.

Richard Freshwater, a director at Cheffins, said: “They should be quite inexpensive to run.”

The houses are wired for audio, TV and data in every room and have been finished to a high specification.

They feature Siemens appliances and Silestone worktops in the handleless kitchens, bathroom fittings supplied by C P Hart, London’s premier bathroom designer, and walnut hardwood flooring on the ground floor.

Each comes with a private landscaped back garden, integrated single or double garage and ample parking space.

Mr Freshwater said: “They are absolutely unique, modern, futuristic houses built to a very high standard. They’ve been very carefully designed to fit onto the plot, and the finish and the future-proofing are very good.”

At £625,000, plot 1 is the most expensive of the three. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms – two of which are en-suite – and the accommodation is laid out over three storeys.

It has a sitting room and separate kitchen/dining room.

Plot 3 (£525,000) and plot 2 (£495,000) are both three-bedroom houses with two bathrooms, one of which is en-suite.

The former has an open-plan sitting room, dining area and kitchen while the latter has a sitting/dining room and a kitchen.

The houses were made available for sale less than a fortnight ago, but plot 2 – the cheapest of the three – has already been reserved.

Mr Freshwater said: “The first one’s gone very quickly and we’ve had interest in the other two, but no firm offers yet, so people should come and have a look if they’re interested.”
