Lilywhites slip up against Aylesbury
Cambridge City suffered their first home league defeat of the season, going down 3-2 to Aylesbury in Evo-Stik League Southern, Division One Central.
Having lost Ebby Nelson-Addy to Bedford Town last week, the Lilywhites also had to battle for 65 minutes with 10 men after the sending off of Jack Wilkinson.
Aylesbury took the lead but City were back on level terms when Josh Oyinsan equalised from close range.
Wilkinson was then adjudged to have committed a foul in the area in the 23rd minute, and as well as conceding a penalty which Aylesbury scored, the defender was sent off.
City did get themselves level though as centre-back Joe Robinson scored from close range in the 35th minute.
Aylesbury regained their advantage at the start of the second half, and despite City throwing everything at the visitors, they were unable to get back on level terms for a third time and so their unbeaten run at home came to an end.
To coincide with remembrance weekend, City will be admitting members of the Armed Forces free of charge for their home game against Kempston this Saturday.
Proof of ID will be required to gain admission.
