Laura Bright’s goal was not enough for Cambridge United Women as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Denham in the FA Women’s Premier League, South East Division One.
The hosts had taken a first-half lead, but United equalised after the break as Amy Howlett’s cross was headed in by Lauren Gibson.
United went ahead in the 78th minute as Bright converted Howlett’s corner. But Denham equalised with six minutes remaining.
In the Eastern Region Women’s Football League, Premier Division, Cambridge City Ladies suffered a 2-1 defeat at Acle.
The Lilywhites started the game well and went ahead when Lauren Tomlinson’s long-range effort was parried and debutant Laura Mills tucked home the rebound.
City had a number of chances to double their lead, and with their defence holding firm had to settle for a 1-0 advantage at half time.
A slow start to the second half resulted in Acle equalising from close range, and City suffered the sucker punch as their hosts grabbed the winner two minutes from time.
Teonie Peyton and Liz Pamplin were on target for Cambridge United Women reserves as they lost 3-2 to Stevenage in Division One North.
In the S-Tech Women’s Premiership, Cambridge City’s development team were beaten 4-0 by Netherton United.
City were 2-0 down by half time, but with some composed and flowing football hit the crossbar and missed a penalty after the break.
However, they could not find a breakthrough, and Netherton sealed their win with two late goals.
