Megan Tonks hit a hat-trick for Cambridge City to maintain their quest for a double as they beat Netherton 6-0 in the S-Tech Under-16 League Cup, semi-finals.

City were quick out of the blocks, pegging Netherton in their own half, and it was not long before Katy Ruston had given them the lead.

Tonks then struck twice before half time to increase City’s
lead to 3-0.

There was no let-up for the hosts after the break as they continued to push forward, and Tonks completed her hat-trick, Ruston netted a second and Lizzie Wray got one to complete the win.

Cambridge City had their second win over Milton in a week, but there was a big difference in the
score in 14A.

Having won 9-0 the previous week, City secured another victory, but this time 4-2, with goals from Rose Hastings, Grace Muffett, Annabel Cuthbert and Freya Standing.

In what could be a title decider in 13A, Cambridge City were beaten 2-1 at Yaxley.

The Lilywhites headed to the north of the county high in confidence after a narrow defeat to their rivals last month.

City started the game defending quite deep but looked sharp on the counter attack.

However, they were unfortunate to go a goal behind midway through the first half and it remained 1-0 to Yaxley at half time.

City started the second half the stronger side, exploiting the space on the right wing with some good football, and they got their reward when Aimeee Fullwood got into the box and drilled home a strike.

The visitors had the upper hand, but Yaxley managed to get back in front from a corner.

City pressed hard for an equaliser but were unable to convert any of their chances as Yaxley held on for the victory.
