But Cambridge South lose their record with draw

Cambridge Nomads made it three wins out of three by beating Dereham II 3-1 in East Men’s League, Division 2N.

They started the game well, controlling possession to take the lead through Martin Hamon and a composed finish from Sam Walker-Farrant.

Dereham pulled a goal back before half time on the counter attack.

It was more attritional in the second half, although Nomads retained control of possession, just not as far up the pitch. They completed their win with a tap in from Richard Lloyd.

Ollie Lamming notched a double and James Bailey scored once as Cambridge South dropped their first points of the season as St Ives fought back to earn a 3-3 draw in 2N.

Paul Matthews scored the equaliser for Cambridge Nomads II as they drew 2-2 with Cambridge South II in 4NW.

Ash Artaman opened the scoring for South against the run of play, but Matthews equalised for Nomads.

Tom Steed put South back in front after half time, but Matthews got his second of the game from a short corner five minutes from time as Nomads earned a draw having had most of the possession and more chances.

Ash Dookun grabbed a consolation for South III as they lost 3-1 to Kettering II in 4NW.

Owen Russell hit a hat-trick for South IV as they triumphed 3-1 over Leadenham II in 5NW.

Cambridge Nomads III earned a 2-0 victory over South V in their first 6NW (S) game of the season after two previous walkover wins.
