New addition at Volac Park
Former Ireland youth international Jamie Dever has joined Cambridge Rugby Club until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old prop arrives at Volac Park having previously been with Connacht.
Dever, who prefers to be at loose-head prop, progressed through the academy at Connacht and has represented Ireland at under-16, under-18 and under-20 level.
He made five first-team appearances for Connacht.
“We’re delighted,” said Cambridge director of rugby Ross Stewart. “Jamie had several offers throughout Europe to play professional rugby, but we’re thrilled he has chosen Cambridge to settle down in.
“He’s going to bring experience of a high level with him and his presence is going to be beneficial for the club and for the other players here.
“We want to give him a platform to continue his development through his professional career, and we as a club are going to support him, and in turn we’ll reap the rewards with him in the squad.”
