Luke Berry and Harrison Dunk were on target for Cambridge United as they won 2-1 at Exeter City in Sky Bet League Two.

Two early goals proved just the trick for the U’s in their bid to bounce back from the defeat to Grimsby, which ended their five-match unbeaten run.

Exeter are yet to win at home in the league this season, and a defensive error gave the U’s the chance to make the perfect start after eight minutes.

Berry charged down a clearance from Exeter keeper Christy Pym and, following a further muddle in the Exeter ranks, the United midfielder rolled the ball into the net.

Three minutes later, Dunk fired in an effort from 14-yards out to make it 2-0.

Pym was then on hand to deny Leon Legge before half time and Adam McGurk was unable to convert a good opportunity after the break.

There was some hope for Exeter in the 73rd minute when Joel Grant headed home Craig Woodman’s cross, but the U’s were able to close out the win to move up the table.

Elsewhere, Ben Robinson scored on his debut to help Cambridge City earn a 1-1 draw with King’s Langley in Evo-Stik League Southern, Premier Division.

And Elkanah Sibanda fired in a first-half free kick for Histon as they drew 1-1 at Hanwell Town in Division One Central.
