U’s get home tie

Cambridge United have landed a home draw in the first round of the FA Cup.

They will face Vanarama National League side Dover Athletic at the Cambs Glass Stadium over the weekend of November 4 to 7.

Dover are ninth in the table, and will be out to recreate their Cup exploits of two years ago when they defeated League Two clubs Morecambe and Cheltenham before losing to Premier League Crystal Palace in the third round.

United last faced Dover in 1970, when the clubs were in the Southern League.

The U’s are in Sky Bet League Two action this weekend, with a long trip to Exeter City.

Shaun Derry’s men will be eager to get back to winning ways after seeing their five-match unbeaten run brought to an end with a 1-0 home defeat to Grimsby last Saturday.
