Ben Cliverd runs prove crucial for Sawston & Babrham in win over Histon

Cambridge St Giles and Cambridge Granta also victorious
Ben Cliverd topped the run-scorers as Sawston & Babraham earned a 16-run win over Histon in the Whiting & Partners Cambs & Hunts Premier League, Division One.
Having won the toss, Sawston & Babraham elected to bat and Cliverd’s 68 led them to 219 for 8.
Nick Griggs contributed 32 and Dilshan Manamperi 25 to help build the total.
Ben Leach and Sean Stevenson got two wickets apiece.
Opener James Johnson made 47 in reply for Histon, and Will Brown edged them towards their target with 62, but Histon were bowled out for 203.
James Van De Peer got three for 38 for Sawston & Babraham, while Aaron Pledger and Matt Ellis got two scalps each.
Kasim Ikhlaq helped Cambridge St Giles stop Southill Park in Division Two.
Garryth Jackson made 43 and was aided in the score building by Will Phelps (25) and Matt Samson (24) as St Giles finished on 234 for 9.
In reply, Ben Stone removed the top of the Southill order, reducing them to 19 for 3; he finished with figures of three for 5 from seven overs.
Ikhlaq then made a big impact, taking four for 26 to help dismiss Southill for 74 as St Giles earned a 160-run win.
Cambridge Granta II secured an eight-wicket win over Saffron Walden II.
The hosts made 178 for 8, but Granta usurped that target with the loss of only two wickets.
There was defeat for Great Shelford though.
They faced Blunham, and having won the toss, put the hosts into bat, dismissing them for 268.
However, Shelford were then bowled out for 58, giving Blunham a 210-run win.
