Foxton also picked up a victory in Division One
Sawston & Babraham’s bowlers did the donkey work to give their side a nine-wicket win over Waresley in Whiting & Partners Cambs and Hunts Premier League, Division One.
Having won the toss and elected to bat, Waresley must have regretted the decision as they went from 21 for 0 to 76 all out.
Ben Clilverd took three for 10 and Alex Stafford and James Van De Peer got two wickets apiece.
It was then a procession for Sawston & Babraham as Matt Hague hit 39 not out off 35 as they reached 78 for 1.
Sawston & Babraham are level on points with Saffron Walden at the top of the table with 352, but are second by virtue of games lost.
Walden’s position at the summit was secured thanks to a one-wicket win over Histon.
Shakir Mehmood hit 33 and Ed Hyde struck 55 not out as Histon made 207 for 7.
Walden reached their target of 211 for 9 with one wicket to spare, with Ben Leach taking three for 48.
Ryan Francis shone with the bat and Sharmal Anderson with the ball as Foxton beat March Town by 200 runs.
Francis made 113 off 115 balls and with Will Heslam’s 37, and some other helpful knocks, Foxton made 292 for 7.
Anderson then took over, claiming the last five batsmen to finish with figures of five for 16 to dismiss March for 92.
The result keeps Foxton in the mix in fourth place, 34 points behind the leading pair.
Aaron Spillett made an unbeaten half-century for Great Shelford in their 200-run defeat to Huntingdon & District in Division Two.
The hosts made 294 for 4, and then despite Spillett making 57 not out, he did not have any support as Shelford were bowled out for 94.
Shelford are rooted to the bottom of the table.
