Clash with Shrewsbury School awaits in School Sports Magazine National T20 competition
The semi-finals of the School Sports Magazine National T20 competition beckon for The Leys School under-15 girls’ cricket team.
Their route to the last four has seen them defeat Langley by nine wickets, The Perse by 10 wickets and Norwich by the same margin to set up a quarter-final clash with Felsted.
In that game, they won by 32 runs, which included 93 not out from captain Issy Routledge, who took her scoring in the competition to 232 without being dismissed.
The Leys join Millfield, Shrewsbury School and Brighton College at the Finals Day, and their opponents in the semi-final are Shrewsbury School.
James Clark, The Leys’ director of sport, said: “This group of girls continue to excel in not just cricket but in all sports.
“They have a superb attitude to training and approach everything they do with confidence, passion and a sense of enjoyment.
“They deserve to be at Finals Day as one of the top four sides in the country, and they can approach the day with real confidence.”
