City of Cambridge Swimming Club’s ladies’ relay squad pocketed gold medals galore at the Swim England National Masters Championships.

And it was a weekend to remember for the club as the team of 19 returned from Sheffield with 28 medals.

Robyn Le Friec, Sam Auker, Katrin Heider and Kathryn Loveys formed the team in the 72+ age group, and they won relay gold in the 4x50m medley, 4x200m freestyle, 4x100m medley, 4x50m freestyle and 4x100m.

Le Friec and Heider were joined by Luke Westwood and Liam Barnett to take first place in the mixed 100+ 4x100m freestyle relay.

Westwood and Barnett were also partnered by Tom Sarah and Aaron Lynch to earn bronze in the men’s 72+ 4x100m freestyle relay.

And silver was secured by Julie Scott, Fay Westwood, Silvia Ferdin and Emma Walker in the women’s 160+ age group.

Le Friec backed up her achievements in the relay with further success in the individual events.

In the 25 to 29 age category, she won the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly, and claimed silver in the 400m freestyle.

Heider won the 25 to 29 age group 200m freestyle, took silvers in the 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle, and grabbed bronze in the 50m freestyle.

Ferdin was first in the 50 to 54 section 200m butterfly, and Emma Walker collected bronze in the 40 to 44 category 50m butterfly.

Kathryn Loveys won silver medals in the 30 to 34 age group 100m and 200m breaststroke, and bronze in the 50m breaststroke, 200m individual medley and 800m freestyle.

In the 25 to 29 category, Luke Westwood took silver in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m freestyle.

And in the 65 to 69 category, Peter Rank claimed silver in the 800m freestyle and bronze in the 1,500m.
