Half century is chalked up in London League 2NE
Paul Pudney scored a hat-trick of tries as Cantabrigian won 50-20 at Holt in London League 2NE.
Cantabs got the ball rolling after two minutes, with Nick Denham running through unopposed, and James Hayward landed the conversion.
Loose-head prop Ben Tozer was next to score, with his first try for the first team. Hayward added the extras.
A minute later, Pudney got his first try after ghosting through the opposition, and the conversion made it 21-0. Francois Eve then chipped the ball over the defence to get the bonus-point winning fourth try.
And Pudney had his second before the break, with Hayward’s extras making it 33-0.
Hayward got the first try of the second half, hacking forward three times and getting to the loose ball to touch down. He converted to make it 40-0.
A break on the right put in Pudney to complete his hat-trick, but then Holt drove through on the right for an unconverted try and got a second to make it 45-10, with Rich Ford then sin-binned for Cantabs.
Bloxsum ran the length of the field and stepped inside the full-back to dot down to complete Cantabs’ scoring.
Two more tries gave Holt the bonus point as it finished 50-20.
