Ten-try delight in win over Guildford
Charlie Parkhouse scored four tries in a 15-minute spell as Shelford earned a valuable 64-0 win over Guildford in London & SE Premier Division.
Shelford went into the game hovering worryingly close to the relegation zone, so victory was vital against a team they had lost 38-4 to in October.
And they made an ideal start as Simon Hrbek touched down after just five minutes.
Parkhouse then got four to take his tally for the season to 22, and Richy McIver and Atelea Moa, with his first for the club, helped take it to 45-0 at half time, as Josh Simmons landed five conversions.
Guildford reorganised at the break, and it was a closer second half, with the first try not coming until the 75th minute, through Moa.
Simmons and Hrbek both touched down again, and two more conversions from Simmons meant it finished 64-0.
There was further cause to cheer as Charlie Baker stepped off the replacements’ bench to make his 200th appearance for Shelford.
Their next match is a crunch game at home to third-from-bottom Westcombe Park on February 17, with only three points currently separating the two sides in the table.
