Brilliantly exciting Scottish comedian Larry Dean is Custard Comedy’s January headliner when the event returns to Comberton.

Since being crowned Scottish Comedian of the Year at just 23, Dean’s star has continued to rise and rise, with his debut Edinburgh Fringe show Out Now! receiving widespread critical and audience acclaim as well as a Fosters Comedy Award nomination for best newcomer.

This year has seen Dean star on Live From The BBC on BBC2, having already appeared twice on BBC Presents: Best Of The Edinburgh Festival.

He has also performed alongside some of the biggest names in UK comedy, having supported the likes of Eddie Izzard on tour and performed twice at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, in 2014 and 2015.

Dean will be joined by the easy going and confident Luke Graves, who creates a natural rapport with the audience and a comfortable atmosphere with crowds of all ages. “Immensely likeable,” said chortle.co.uk.

Alongside Dean and Graves is Josh Pugh. Pugh is funny. That’s why he does well in competitions, with confident and clever writing that takes you off on glorious tangents.

Steve Bennett of chortle.co.uk calls him a “promising voice” who “finds laughs in unusual places” while The Londonest says he’s “pleasingly off the beaten track”.

Pugh has a unique, interesting and funny voice with a very exciting future.

The MC for the night is Laura Lexx, one of the most effortless comedians making a splash on the comedy scene today.

She indulges her audience with childish glee and attention, and her shows are never the same twice.

“Next generation Lucy Porter,” says chortle.co.uk.

The night takes place on Friday, January 13, and the laughs start around 8.15pm.

Over-18s only. Tickets: £5.50-£10 (£8 concs). Box office: Comberton Sports and Arts on 01223 264444 or visit wegottickets.com/event/378760.
