Former home of 1st Lord Fairhaven will no longer shut between October and March

Anglesey Abbey has announced it is now opening the doors to its house all year round.

The former home of the 1st Lord Fairhaven is usually closed from the end of October through to March, although the extensive gardens are open all year.

House and collections manager Kate Reeder said: “We are really excited about moving to year-round opening as it will give more of our visitors the chance to see the house and Lord Fairhaven’s amazing collection of antiques, paintings, silverware and clocks, which is exactly what he wanted when he bequeathed Anglesey Abbey to the National Trust.”

The opening coincides with a new exhibition, ‘Winter 1964 – A gentleman’s way of life’.
