Spanning 200 years of local life, the museum displays a donated collection in renovated 17th Century farm buildings.

The museum is a entirely run by volunteers from the community. It’s a collection of occupational machinery, vehicles and equipment that depicts the day to day life of many locals through the years.

Trades exhibited include peat cutting, thatching and blacksmithing. There’s also a chemists apothecary and cobbler’s workshop, as well as a victorian schoolroom.

For locals there is also an extensive archive of local history; maps, photographs, and various other documents that are available for research. In the Pump Room is a history of the draining of The Fens.

The museum is situated just outside Ramsey. It has a Tea Room and a courtyard for picnics if the weather allows.
