Joanna, who trained at the firm, returns to Ashtons from a senior in-house role at a large environmental, engineering and building control consultancy. She will deal with the resolution of construction disputes, professional negligence claims and adjudication.

Joanna joins Sarah Duncan, a senior associate who leads the construction work stream, and advised on Europe’s first eco mosque, built in Mill Road, Cambridge.

Sarah said Joanna’s arrival “bolsters the expanded offering we can provide to our development, education and public sector clients”.

“We can now offer a real ‘cradle to grave’ approach on development projects,” she said.

The team has grown recently with the appointment of Amy Richardson, a partner specialising in planning matters, and Sally Challinor, a partner with expertise in environmental issues.
