Mills & Reeve launch looks ahead to Cambridge Tech Week
Cambridge Wireless (CW) has announced further details of the line-up for Cambridge Tech Week, including speakers, investor pitches, innovation showcases, a scale-up day and ‘engagement with the next generation of tech talent’.
The events on 9-13 September will take place across iconic buildings in Cambridge city centre, including Pembroke College, Cambridge Guildhall, the Corn Exchange and the Cambridge Union.
Speaking at the first launch event at Mills & Reeve in Cambridge on 15 February, Chris Bruce, chair of the Cambridge Tech Week steering committee, said: “This unmissable event will attract high-profile delegates from across the tech ecosystem, showcasing the latest technology from Cambridge, the wider UK and from across the globe.
“We’re thrilled to announce that our first sponsors for Cambridge Tech Week are Cambridge Consultants, HSBC, UKTIN, Cambridge Management Consulting, Mills & Reeve and Rathbones.
“We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Mills & Reeve for hosting our first launch event in Cambridge, closely followed by a London launch event at Rathbones in London.
“We look forward to working with our sponsors, partners and contributors to elevate Cambridge Tech Week to the next level in 2024.”
Nick Finlayson-Brown, head of office at Mills & Reeve, Cambridge, said: “Mills & Reeve is delighted to have hosted this special launch of Cambridge Tech Week 2024.
“Last year was fantastic and this year promises to be bigger and better thanks to Cambridge Wireless’s passion and energy.
“Cambridge Tech Week not only brings tech talent together from all over the globe but also showcases the brilliance, imagination and innovation that the city continues to produce.”
At the special launch event, Nick and Chris welcomed an expert panel of speakers which included David Moore, CEO of Pragmatic Semiconductor and Carmen Palacios-Berraquero, CEO of Nu Quantum.
The panel conversation revolved around the intersection of technology and entrepreneurship in Cambridge and Cambridge’s wider role within the technology ecosystem.
Speaking at the London launch event for the event last week, Chris described the purpose of the week as being “to put a spotlight on great investment opportunities, and encourage investors to collaborate as technologists to join us to share ideas and business opportunities.”
The goal, he added, is to create “meaningful discussions with positive outcomes”.
