Premier Travel take home 'Promotion of the Year' gong
Premier Travel enjoyed double success by winning two prestigious industry awards.
The Cambourne-based firm was honoured with a ‘Promotion of the Year’ accolade at this year’s Agent Achievement Awards following its 80th birthday campaign in 2016.
The initiative saw Premier Travel give away 80 prizes in 80 days in all 18 of its branches last summer. This was followed by staff volunteering at numerous charities, including East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
Travel consultant Beth Collins, based at Premier Travel in St Ives, was also crowned the UK’s best young travel agent.
Beth, who joined the firm as an apprentice last year, said: “I can’t believe I was chosen for the award. I love selling holidays and enjoy every second of my job. It’s such an honour.”
The annual awards, organised by trade publication Travel Weekly, are the UK travel industry’s biggest celebration. Premier Travel was up against a number of big national chains.
Director Paul Waters, who collected the ‘Promotion of the Year’ award on behalf of the company, said: “Our 80th anniversary last year was a huge landmark for us and we’re so incredibly proud that our efforts to reward customers and give back to our local communities have been recognised with such a prestigious award. It was a real team effort across the whole of Premier.”
