This year’s theme is ‘Powering Climate Tech: Private Capital and Partnerships for a Resilient UK and EU Future’, which reflects the growing momentum around climate innovation as a driver of sustainable economic development. CVD London will explore how private capital, deep tech, and collaborative ecosystems can each accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Three Cambridge companies will be pitching to investors at the event. They are:

- Phoenix Carbon : Based on Vision Park, Histon, Phoenix Carbon enables a circular economy for the sustainable use of carbon fibre as a commodity and product for use across the aerospace, automotive, marine, energy storage and leisure sectors, reducing embodied CO2 emissions by 87 per cent

- Monumo: Deeptech engineering company focused on creating the world’s best electric motors

- Reclinker (previously Cambridge Electric Cement): University of Cambridge researchers at 22 Station Road-based company have found a way to produce very low-emission concrete on a commercial scale using recycled concrete and electrically-powered arc furnaces.

Dominic Vergine, CEO and co-founder at Monumo, said: “We’re delighted to have this opportunity to pitch to such an august audience and the timing is perfect.

“We’ve long believed that a multi-physics ML and AI engine could find superior engineering designs and the results we’re delivering are compelling evidence that this is the future of engineering. Our mission to create the world’s best electric motors is clearly resonating across diverse industries - from electric vehicles to white goods and from aerospace to additive manufacturing.”

The 25 June event is at KPMG London, 15 Canada Square at Canary Wharf. Speakersd include Sai Shivareddy, founder and CEO of Nyobolt; Dr Susanne Coles, deputy director - Innovation Finance Ecosystem, Innovate UK; and Claire Curry, global head of technology, industry & innovation, BloombergNEF.
