Cambridge Water offers financial support options for customers
Cambridge Water has announced extra support for customers financially affected by Covid-19.
The water company, which supplies high-quality drinking water to approximately 351,000 customers in Cambridge, from Ramsey in the north, Gamlingay in the west, Balsham in the east and Melbourn in the south, has announced support packages to anyone whose income has been affected due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The company has acted to assist customers and says:
“We promise to not take any further action for any outstanding balances during this time.
“We promise to make it as easy as possible for you to pay your bill. Register for MyAccount to make a quick and easy payment. You can also use our automated payment option by calling 0800 09 30 061 using option 1.
“We promise to offer you flexible payment options which include the option to reduce your payments or take a payment break.
“We promise to spread the cost of any remaining balances, once things get back to normal. We will offer different payment arrangement options to suit your circumstances.
“We promise to be here for you and talk you through your options. We offer live chat and callbacks for those of you that need extra information or support.”
All Cambridge businesses have responded to the pandemic in different ways: find out how here, and there’s more on the gold standard for a corporate response in the life sciences sector here.
Rachael Merrell, head of retail services at Cambridge Water, said: “We know it’s a difficult time for everyone, so we don’t want anyone to worry about their bills. We’ve got many support packages available and may be able to offer payment holidays to some customers. This is on top of our existing discounted tariff for customers on low incomes. Anyone who needs help can request a payment holiday through our website so please get in touch if you need help.”
