Chambers reopens in new Burwell location

The Chambers Barber Shop is reopening in Burwell.

Returning are its original Barbershop Duo, Gary Holland and Mark Smith.

Chambers was first opened by Gary in Newmarket in 1999. Seven years later, he was joined by Mark. In 2015, Gary sold the business to concentrate on his extensive private client base, operating under the same name.

This latest incarnation of Chambers opened in its new location at 7 Parsonage Lane, Burwell on May 11.

Gary said: “After the first lockdown, bookings went through the roof. People wanted to go somewhere that was booking-only, Covid-friendly and most of all a trusted environment – which is the absolute ethos of Chambers Barber Shop.

“I have been working as a barber for over 35 years, including at Reeds and Mr Polito’s in central Cambridge, and recognise that conversation is as important as an excellent haircut – and so providing an environment where men can openly chat and share their concerns has always been an important part of the business. And more so now than ever."
