Christmas jumper week at VetCT raises money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices

For VetCT staff, which provides 24/7 global veterinary assistance, getting to work had added meaning before Christmas - because it was festive jumper time.

Every person who wore a Christmas jumper throughout the week ensured that East Anglia Children’s Hospices (Each) received a £10 donation.

“We’re looking to raise several hundreds of pounds,” said VetCT head of communications Liz Barton, adding: “There were 12 of us in the office today.”

The vet specialist, which is based at the Broers Building on JJ Thompson Avenue, is big on supporting local good causes.

“We also carry out activities that represent the global and remote nature of our team,” adds Liz. “We have over 250 staff across over 20 countries, with our global head office in Cambridge.

“For example, we also have an ongoing ‘round the world’ challenge for Wildlife Vets International. We ‘visit’ every WVI project location, where they provide veterinary input

to endangered species conservation projects. We’re about halfway around the 21,282-mile total distance.”
