Dardan Security opens HQ in Great Shelford after year of growth
Dardan Security has opened a new head office and control room in Great Shelford after winning a series of major clients.
The company, the largest security operator in the Eastern region, now helps to secure Cambridge University Library, port operator Peel Ports and international law firm Mishcon de Reya.
It provides security guards, patrols, alarm systems, CCTV installation, remote monitoring, keyholding, data and cyber security and consultancy.
Managing director Philip Anthony, who has worked in the private security sector for almost 25 years for companies including Securicor, Reliance, G4S, OCS and Knightsbridge, said: “Continued growth and expansion, both geographically and in terms of the scope of the security services we offer, has seen the company become a major player on a national level.
“On the back of recent success and with clients located the length and breadth of the country, the requirement for a centrally located head office and control room has become increasingly evident.”
The move to its new three-storey home at Grain House in Mill Court, Great Shelford, has created eight new jobs.
GSL Dardan Limited, which trades as Dardan Security, was formed in 2009 through a merger of Dardan Security, founded in 1973, and Integral Security, established in 1979.
The company employs more than 500 staff, from Aberdeen to London and is accredited by the Security Industry Authority.
Ranked in the top five per cent of security providers in the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS), it has just been named ‘One to Watch in 2019’ by industry news provider Infologue.com.
The company, which sits just outside the top 30 regulated security firms in the UK by turnover, recently won a new contract for concierge and manned guarding services at an iconic buildings in London - one of three prestigious contracts that it was awarded for city-based corporate clients in 2018, which proved to be one of its most successful for growth to date.
Dardan Security now provides 700,000 hours of security a year, with its dedicated 24/7 control room processing an average of 16,000 calls per month and providing more than 300,000 hours per year of CCTV monitoring coverage
The company is the hub for the Cross Sector Safety and Security Communications Partnership (CSSC) for the Eastern region
In his former role as managing director of Knightsbridge, a leading independent security companies in the City and West End of London, Mr Anthony was responsible for clients including JP Morgan, London Stock Exchange, Goldman Sachs, Ernst & Young and Heron Tower.
