Get the Cambridge Independent cycled to you - with your chocolates
Click It, the Cambridge cycle delivery service for independent stores, has added a number of new offerings to the menu - and from this week the Cambridge Independent is available to add to your basket.
More than 40 retailers are now signed on to the Click It Local home delivery service, which launched in April. The service involves cycle courier company Zedify delivering orders to an area in and around the city, including Girton, Histon, Milton, Fen Ditton, Cherry Hinton, Trumpington and Coton.
Independent Cambridge retailers involved now include Adilia’s Norfolk Street Bakery, The Bicycle Collective, Small and Green, Signorelli’s Deli, Simon’s Cider, Wee Quiche Company, Lo’s Cheesecake Emporium, Emerald Foods Calverley’s Brewery, Mama Bombon and Jack’s Gelato.
Mama Bombon is Click It’s first chocolatier.
“There will be boxes of chocolates, a few bars, and some really nice cacao from Bali for a cacao ceremony,” says founder Gloria Dominguez Martinez. “I’m going to start with a few products and in future add cup cakes, maybe some biscuits like shortbread covered in chocolate and other recipes.”
Delivery of goods is a flat rate of £3 if you order from just one retailer, but you can order from multiple retailers on the site, with each extra retailer adding £1 to the cost of the delivery. The Cambridge Independent can be bought without adding to the delivery price of an existing order and is added to your basket of goods for delivery - so you pay only the standard cover price for your edition.
“We are delighted that customers using Click It Local in Cambridge will be able to add the Cambridge Independent to their order for delivery,” said Cambridge Independent editor Paul Brackley. “It is a great service, supporting many local independents, and we are pleased to be joining them.”
Orders before 2pm will be delivered the same day, after 2pm the following morning.
The Click It Local service is available online, with an app due for launch next month.
