Hewitsons enjoyed a fourth successive year of growth in 2018 and it shared its successes with more than 300 guests at its annual reception at Fitzwilliam Museum last week.
Guests from a broad selection of sectors enjoyed drinks, canapes and a chance to browse the Cambridge museum’s latest exhibition of etchings, drypoints and lithographs by American artist James McNeil Whistler.
The Cambridge law firm welcomed 25 new faces in 2018, taking the total number working across its offices in Cambridge, London, Milton Keynes and Northampton to 136.
Among them was Emma Shipp, who joined as a partner and head of business services in October, part of a strategy to further strengthen services for business clients. Hewitsons also has a key focus on the Oxford-Milton Keynes-Cambridge growth corridor.
In 2018, the firm was again confirmed as a national legal panel member for Homes England and retained its place on the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) Legal Panel.
It also achieved excellent rankings in the 2019 Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners legal directories, and three of its partners were inducted into the Legal 500 Hall of Fame.
Guests at last Thursday’s reception heard how 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of LawExchange International (LEI).
This global network of independent law firms, founded by Hewitsons in 1994, now features 33 practices from 30 countries as members, giving clients access to trusted legal services around the world.
Guests also heard how Hewitsons remains committed to charitable events such as its annual Chariots of Fire race, which has now raised more than £1.25million for local causes.
Managing partner Colin Jones said: “On behalf of Hewitsons, I’d like to thank everyone who joined us at our annual reception to help celebrate our many successes over the past year and our ongoing growth. It was great to see so many of our clients and contacts enjoying themselves together.
“We now look forward to another exciting year. Throughout 2019, we will continue to invest heavily, in order to carry on providing the very best services and results for our clients, always with the absolute client focus that we pride ourselves on.”
