Jark bags agency win
City recruitment specialist is 'exceptional' star
Jark Cambridge saw off more than 50 other agencies to be handed the Recruitment Agency of the Year prize by TV impressionist and awards host Alistair McGowan at The Recruit Venture Group Awards ceremony in central London recently.
The agency, based in Burleigh Street in Cambridge, had what judges called an “exceptional year” of trading, with sales up nearly 13 per cent, turnover up by £1.4million and other key performance milestones also exceeded.
Cambridge director of the Burleigh Street-based agency, Justin Stocks, said: “I’m thrilled Jark Cambridge has won this award because I really feel like the team has deserved it this year. We’ve beaten our ambitious targets and that’s credit to everyone’s hard work.
“Our success really is down to our people. The fact that we have high levels of staff retention means we are able to offer our clients and candidates the benefits of our team’s knowledge and experience. Our team really knows its patch and the labour demands in the various business sectors we serve and I feel that gives us an edge on the competition.”
Paul Mizen, managing director of The Recruit Venture Group, said: “Jark Cambridge has been a star performer this year. Good recruitment is all about good knowledge of your area and the needs of both your clients, and those you are placing into jobs. So if you don’t have good staff retention, that knowledge soon evaporates. What Jark Cambridge is doing is creating a really positive work culture, where success is rewarded, and that has led to them keeping hold of experienced and talented staff.
“They are fully deserving of the Recruitment Agency of the Year award, against what was some very strong competition.”
Jark Cambridge provides recruitment services across a range of business sectors, including healthcare and construction.
