'Majority of staff' made redundant as Sphere Medical goes into administration

Sphere Medical has gone into administration, ceasing trading with immediate effect as administrators KPMG seek a buyer for the business and assets of the point-of-care monitors and diagnostic devices group.

Steve Absolom and Will Wright from KPMG’s Restructuring practice have been appointed joint administrators to the limited company, which makes the Proxima blood gases monitors.

The pre-revenue medtech business has been trading since 2003 and has operations based in Cambridge and St Asaph, North Wales.
