Thursday’s coronavirus seminar with Chris Smith of the Naked Scientists has moved online.

The event, which was due to take place at Cambridge Judge Business School on Thursday (March 19), was shifted on to a digital platform in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re going ahead online,” Dr Smith says. “It’ll be streamed and interactive in the same way as it would have been, so people will be able to attend and experience all the excitement - and the only infectious thing will be the content.”

To find out how to attend follow @NakedScientists or @CambCETC on Twitter, or track the hashtag #CVCETC.

Updated details will also appear on the invitation here, and on YouTube where organisers Cambridge Enterprise and Technology Club are the hosts.

The free digital conference will allow members of the public to ask questions about Covid-19 and the healthcare implications via Twitter in real time, and enjoy the YouTube event without putting themselves in any danger.

The panel for the “no question is too stupid” session includes Dr Smith with Dr Freya Jephcott, of the department of veterinary medicine and a Fellow of Queen’s College; Dr Flavio Toxvaerd, of the department of economics and a Fellow of Clare College, plus Dr Andrea Cantone, a senior product marketing manager at chip designer Qualcomm. The event begins at 6.30pm.

“The audience can listen and interact with the panel, then the session will be archived for anyone who wants to catch up later,” added Dr Smith. And all the links and other updates will be posted on Twitter.”
