Rutherford’s Punting awarded VisitEngland accolade
Rutherford’s Punting has been awarded a VisitEngland award in recognition of its story-telling.
It won the Best Told Story Accolade for 2022 based on an annual visitor attraction assessment, becoming the first Cambridge business to win such an award.
Rutherford’s founder Emma Wynne said: “We’re extremely proud of our team and the work that they have put in to creating the best tour experiences for our customers. Being awarded Visit England’s Best Told Story Accolade means a lot to us, and we will be celebrating.”
Introduced in 2014, the accolades are available to those participating in VisitEngland’s Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme, which includes a range of tourism experiences in England from museums and galleries to historic houses and gardens. Some 97 attractions were marked under the scheme.
Rutherford’s has family heritage linked to Ernest Rutherford, the Cambridge graduate and nuclear physicist.
Its luxury punt tours are not scripted, but its guides are well-versed in the city’s and university’s history.
