SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards shortlist revealed
The director of the inaugural SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards has hailed the response from the region’s small businesses after announcing the shortlist.
Winners of the awards, which are supported by media partner Cambridge Independent, will be announced at a gala ceremony and black-tie dinner at the Huntingdon Marriott Hotel on April 5.
Awards director Damian Cummins said: “We have had a phenomenal number of entrants to our inaugural awards in Cambridgeshire.
“Such was the response from quality businesses across the county that we have to restrict tickets to just four per finalist. We’re already looking for a larger venue for 2018.
“We’re looking forward to see who wins, hoping the correct envelope will be used to announce the winner and celebrating the fact that many of the successful applicants will also make their way to the national finals in London later in the year.”
There are 85 nominations across the 20 categories, including four for Milton Executive Cars and three each for Arcus Global, Aston Shaw and British Essentials.
The Cambridge Independent is sponsoring the Business Person of the Year category, which has a strong shortlist of six. There are six nominees each for Regus Cambridge Business of the Year and the CWL Systems-sponsored category for firms with fewer than 50 employees.
