Midsummer sets up solar energy bundle for InstaGen
Midsummer, the Milton-based solar energy equipment supplier, has partnered with InstaGroup to launch its first fully-connected solar PV system, InstaGen.
The system includes panels, battery storage and inverters, plus an app that enables the consumer to be in control of their InstaGen system and energy usage.
Incorporated in 2010 by a former climate scientist living off-grid, Midsummer grew to include its EasyPV own software design, a subsidiary opened in Dublin in 2019, and expansion into renewable heat pumps in 2021. In 2022, Midsummer opened a further 35,000 square foot distribution centre in Glasgow.
The knowledgeable team has the expertise to help with the design and supply of any system. Its bespoke Easy PV software has been developed to help solar installers master the complex process of project design, optimisation of solar energy set-up and one-step full kit purchase. For heat installers, Midsummer’s Heatpünk software provides cutting-edge cloud-based solutions for designing and specifying all elements of a heat pump install.
Meanwhile, Wokingham-based InstaGroup has been in the energy efficiency sector since 1980, supplying a large network of SME installers with high-quality material and innovative products.
Their industry experience has positioned them as industry leaders in accessing various funding opportunities including the Energy Company Obligation (ECO4), Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF), the Great British Insulation scheme (GBIS) and many others.
Paul Griffiths, solar manager at InstaGroup, said: “During the peak of the feed-in tariff circa 2012, the supply of InstaGen panels enabled us to support our vast network of customers and navigate the hurdles that they encounter within the renewables sector. The complexities of integrating products from various manufacturers can often lead to complications, therefore, we developed a fully-connected system along with a consumer App that offers technical support and product monitoring. The expertise from Midsummer, including bespoke software, helps solar installers master the complex process of project design and optimisation which is impressive.
“We’re looking forward to working with Midsummer as this new partnership ensures the installers’ needs are met and a personable experience is provided from beginning to end.”
Tom Livesey, purchasing director at Midsummer, said: “Here at Midsummer, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with InstaGroup to distribute their range of InstaGen products.
“InstaGen has been tried and tested internally at InstaGroup, and their extensive on-the-tools experience ensures it will deliver the next level of service and support that the industry demands. Instagroup places a high value on customer relationships and prioritises customer service – something that closely aligns with our values at Midsummer.
“Combining Midsummer’s expertise in full system design, warehousing, and nationwide logistics with InstaGroup’s knowledge and resources in the ECO4 and scheme space marks the beginning of an exciting journey together.”
