The Cambridge Building Society backs our SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards
The Cambridge Building Society is the latest sponsor to support the Cambridge Independent SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards.
Entry remains open to the awards until 3pm on Wednesday, June 22. There are a host of categories and any small and medium-sized enterprise in Cambridgeshire can enter, from High Growth Business of the Year to Business Innovation. There are also prizes for individuals, not-for-profit organisations and categories acknowledging community contributions.
Katie Robinson, community engagement specialist at The Cambridge, will join our judging panel.
She said: “The Cambridge was founded in 1850 to help the community have homes and housing and that ethos remains our core purpose to this day.
“We are therefore delighted to sponsor the contribution to community awards, to recognise and reward those who help their communities. Community is vitally important, as was shown so many times during the past two years, but we shouldn’t stop there. There are always ways to ensure communities thrive, and I’m looking forward to seeing the great initiatives people have introduced.”
Katie has worked for The Cambridge Building Society for nearly 20 years. She began her career in branch as customer service adviser then mortgage adviser, before moving into compliance, regulatory monitoring of mortgage advisers and performing audits on branches and stores.
In March 2020, she joined the marketing team to lead the society’s Making The Difference community initiative - a scheme of charity partnerships, aimed at improving access to shelter and housing in The Cambridge’s heartland. The programme includes its unique Rent to Home programme that returns 70 per cent of the rent back to tenants of its rental properties to use as deposit for a first home and its First Step Mortgage initiative, which helps those unable to save for a standard deposit to get on the housing ladder.
The awards are also supported by Barr Ellison – our headline sponsor – along with Barons BMW Cambridge, Growth Works, HCR Hewitsons, Ilux, Mattioli Woods and Milton Hall.
Winners will be announced in October.
