TR Destination Management established to manage inbound business travel in Cambridge and beyond
TR Global Events has expanded its offering with the launch of a global destination management company.
TR Destination Management will promote and manage inbound business travel to Cambridge and the Eastern region from across the world.
Managing director Tony Murdock said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our sister company, TR Destination Management.
“This will complement TR Global Events and offer clients a complete package, enabling us to look after all international MICE [meetings, incentives, conferences and events], group and incentive travel requirements.
“Again, we are delighted to be partnering with HotelRes on this new addition to our group. TR Destination Management can look after every element of a business trip from transport and logistics to activities and excursions, tailor-made itineraries to suit every delegation.
“We aim to promote business tourism in the Eastern region, selling what we have to offer on a global stage while also catering for any size of group with any budget, anywhere in the world.”
TR Global Events is the official events partner for Cambridge Independent publisher Iliffe Media, and is based in the same building as the newspaper and its printing press in Winship Road, Milton.
Launched in 2017, it is a full service event management company for the global corporate event market and also has offices in Nottingham and the United States.
The team of hospitality, event, customer service and design specialists works on “memorable, well-organised events that provide a ‘wow’ factor, whilst ensuring an excellent return on investment has proved a real benefit to our clients”.
It works in partnership with HotelRes, a specialist worldwide venue, sourcing conference booking and group accommodation management agency.
TR Global Events’ new sister company will help businesses and organisations arrange seminars, conferences, product launches and group travel, catering for all sizes and budgets.
Tony said TR Destination Management will look after delegate accommodation and registration, help organise city tours, excursions, visits to attractions and team-building activities.
Fergus Wilson, director of sales at HotelRes, said: “As part of our ongoing partnership with TR Global Events, we are thrilled to announce the next stage of our joint growth.
“TR Destination Management brings our collective skills and experience to new markets and new clients. Together, our teams can deliver unparalleled destination management services for Cambridge, London and the world as a whole.
“TR Destination Management was the obvious next step in expanding our joint offering, with the knowledge, resources and experience already in place, we look forward to working even more closely with our partners at TR Global and to working on exciting new projects together.”
Kelly Vickers, managing director of Meet Cambridge, the conference and events bureau that works with University of Cambridge colleges and other unique properties, welcomed the new company.
“I am completely supportive of Tony and the new DMC – it’s very much needed. More than anything, we all need to work collaboratively with all relevant partners to make this city a global destination,” she said.
“We wish TR Destination Management all the success and we look forward to working closely with the team in the weeks and months ahead.”
