Winners of Cambridge BID Awards to be revealed
Supported by the Cambridge Independent, the awards recognise the highest levels of customer service
The winners of the sixth annual Cambridge BID Awards will be revealed tonight (September 20).
The awards recognise stores and businesses providing the highest levels of customers service.
Organised by the Cambridge Business Improvement District (BID), and supported by the Cambridge Independent, categories in the awards cover independent, national and professional businesses in areas from fashion to leisure, and restaurants to overnight accommodation.
Ian Sandison, CEO of Cambridge BID, said: “In a world where online shopping is growing, excellent customer service is key to a high street business’s continued success and relevance – and so it’s very reassuring to find so many businesses signing up to have their staff and service rated anonymously in our mystery shopping programme.
“The judging is conducted entirely by an independent market research company over two separate rounds of mystery shopping held at different times of the year.
“As well as showcasing the businesses providing a fantastic customer experience, the initiative has also proved extremely useful in supporting and guiding the businesses that want to improve.”
The awards take place at St John’s College.
Awards are handed out for Best Overall Customer Experience 2018 in the following categories:

• Indedendent Business – Fashion & Beauty
• Independent Business – Other
• National Business – Fashion
• National Business – Shoes & Accessories
• National Business – Other
• Professional Business – Open Door
• Professional Business – Other
• Leisure / Attraction
• Market Trader
• Overnight Accommodation
• University B&B
The overall winner – the business/es who have achieved the highest mystery shop score across the two visits - will also be crowned.
